Work Permits & Visas

In support of Namibia’s economic growth, the mining industry prioritizes sourcing services from local businesses. However, there are instances where specialized expertise from international professionals is required, particularly during mine construction, major plant refurbishments, upgrades, or complex maintenance operations.

To meet this need and facilitate access to critical skills unavailable locally, the Chamber of Mines has established a dedicated department to manage work permit and visa applications for its members at a minimal fee. This unique service streamlines the application process, ensuring swift turnaround times and reducing bureaucratic hurdles. With consistently high success rates, the Chamber eliminates the inefficiencies associated with lengthy submissions, allowing mining operations to proceed without unnecessary delays.

Additionally, the department maintains direct engagement with Home Affairs, staying informed of the latest regulatory updates and procedural changes. This ensures that members receive accurate, up-to-date information, equipping them with the necessary documentation to facilitate smooth and successful applications.
