HSE Manager, Jacklyn Mwenze, said that the award is humbling and indeed encouraging to see that the good efforts put in place by the mine are yielding results, which started operations some 44 years ago.
“It is satisfying to see that fewer people are getting hurt at the mine. Our goal is to continue on the journey towards Zero Harm.” She explained that the award is an industry recognition that Rössing is on the right path.
She emphasised that it is her firmly held belief that Zero Harm is possible and this award recognises Rössing’s commitment towards achieving this goal.
“I believe we can repeat this achievement for many more years to come. We could not have done this without each and every employee’s commitment to working safely at Rössing. We have started this and we will continue working safely, expectations are high that the award should go to Rössing again in 2021,” says Mwenze.
