The Chamber of Mines held a Special General Meeting on 30 August 2022. The Special General Meeting was to elect the Second Vice President of the Chamber to fill the ad hoc vacancy created by the recent resignation of the First Vice President.

The Chamber wishes to congratulate Mr. George Botshiwe for being officially elected as Second Vice President during the Special General Meeting. On behalf of the Chamber Members and EXCO, we wish you all the best in your service of leadership to the Chamber of Mines and Namibia’s mining sector.

The Chamber’s Executive Committee for the period 2022 – 2023 is as follows:

• President: Hilifa Mbako, Executive Chairperson of Orano Mining Namibia
• First Vice President: Zebra Kasete, Vice President & Managing Director, Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb
• Second Vice President: George Botshiwe, Managing Director, QKR Navachab Gold Mine.
