EduVision, in partnership with B2Gold Namibia, is committed to bridging the gap in the education sector by bringing interactive smartboards technology to marginalized schools in remote areas. On 12 October 2021, the team handed over a smartboard to Cornelius Goreseb Secondary School in Khorixas, Kunene region.

EduVision Director, Frikkie Louw, said the dream of EduVision is to equip all remote schools in the country with access to innovative education technologies. He commended B2Gold for making them realize their vision.

Penehafo Hangala, a science teacher at Cornelius Goreseb, was hopeful that this technology will boost pass rates and school grades in the region. “I’m incredibly happy. The smartboard will improve comprehension and engagement as it’s fun and interesting.”

Ignasius /Awaseb, CSI Manager at B2Gold Namibia, remarked that “we are sowing the seeds for a conducive learning environment for  teachers and learners; we expect the learners to plough back into their communities, realizing sustainable outcomes.”

The initiative started in March 2018, with Edugate Academy in Otjiwarongo operating as the host school from which the EduVision e-learning platform operates the smartboard project. So far, about five schools have benefited from this tremendous partnership. In addition, the team is still in the process of procuring three more smart boards which will be installed in different regions across the country. To date, B2Gold has invested approximately N$900,000 in the EduVision project.
