Netball Namibia successfully hosted the Debmarine Namibia Pent Series Netball Tournament from 1-5 November 2021 in Windhoek.
Uganda was crowned championship of the 2021 Debmarine Pent Series for the first time ahead of Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, and Kenya.
Debmarine Namibia has been a proud sponsor of Netball Namibia for more than three years with an investment of over N$3 million; and Netball Namibia has successfully proven a worthy receipt of the sponsorship.
Debmarine Namibia Chief Financial Officer, Willy Mertens, said that support to women and girls sports development is one of the company’s key social investment focus areas. “We are committed to programmes that uplift women and girls, and this is an area in which we are honouring that commitment”.
Debmarine Namibia also sponsored the Africa Netball Championship from 9 – 16 November 2021 at Wanderes Sport Club in Windhoek where nine (9) countries participated. Netball Namibia hosted South Africa, Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania. South Africa retained the title as African Netball Champion ahead of Uganda and Malawi, and Namibia came fourth.
