One of Debmarine Namibia’s guiding principles is the motto “I Care.” This motto is deeply ingrained in each of their employees, reflecting a collective commitment to compassion and generosity. Every Valentine’s Day, in a heartwarming display of unity, Debmarine employees come together to make a charitable choice by opening their hearts and contributing to the less fortunate. This dedication and initiative have not only made a significant impact on the community but also exemplified the spirit of empathy and togetherness within the organisation.
Last year, the items collected during the Valentine charity drive were generously donated to Green Leaves Primary School in Okahandja Park, Khomas Region. This gesture provided essential support to over 1,600 scholars, many of whom rely on the school feeding programme. Such acts of kindness ensure that these scholars have access to the resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
The impact of Debmarine’s charitable efforts extends further. Half of the proceeds from the Valentine Charity Drive were dedicated to supporting Oanob Primary School in Rehoboth, Hardap Region, amplifying the reach of their initiatives and making a positive difference in another community. Debmarine Namibia Brand Ambassadors delivered the food items to Green Leaves and Oanob Primary Schools. Their dedication to service and willingness to go above and beyond exemplify the values that define the company culture. Together, they are not just colleagues but also a community united by a shared sense of purpose and compassion.
As part of the Debmarine Namibia ‘We Care’ initiative, funds were directed towards purchasing food items to bring Valentine’s Day joy to the students. Moved by reports of overcrowding and food shortages at the school, employees decided to supplement the Ministry of Education’s feeding program by collectively contributing over N$30,000 to buy much-needed food items.
Debmarine Namibia employees are eagerly anticipating another exciting Valentine initiative to benefit the less fortunate in their community. Reflecting on the success of the ‘We Care’ charity drive, we are reminded of the profound impact that collective action can have on those in need. It is through acts of kindness and generosity that we can truly make a difference in the world around us, embodying the true meaning of “Make Life Brilliant” in our communities.
