In its ongoing commitment to support the local community, Rössing Uranium has generously donated N$1.25 million to the Ministry of Health and Social Services in the Erongo region. This funding will be used for infrastructure upgrades and the procurement of essential equipment at district hospitals in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Usakos.
Rössing Uranium, together with its employees, officially handed over N$48,000 for infrastructure upgrades to the Michel Durocher Primary School in the //Karas Region. The school was approached by two Rössing Uranium employees to assess their needs. The mine approved the installation of window glass, painting of window frames, and the creation of a mural on one of the school walls. This donation is part of the mine’s Employee Community Project, an initiative aimed at involving its employees in community projects.
The construction of the DRC Police Station in informal Swakopmund is rapidly taking shape, which is currently 46 percent complete, and is expected to be finished in January 2025.
Rössing Uranium extended a helping hand to the Namibian Police of Erongo Region, with a donation of N$750,000 to be channelled towards the servicing and upkeep of police vehicles in the towns of Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Arandis.
Amid an increasing number of fatal incidents involving learners hit by vehicles on the roads of the coastal towns, Rössing Uranium supported 8 schools in Walvis Bay to enhance their traffic patrols and road safety awareness.
