The development of a phosphate-based industry in Namibia is optimally aligned to achieving national development policies and goals, which call for economic diversification and industrialisation through leveraging natural resources
Marine phosphate mining and its associated industries hold huge economic potential for Namibia and its people.
According to the scientific evidence available, the inclusion of phosphate mining into Namibia’s commercial marine activities will result in a co-existence of sectors that is mutually beneficial, with minimal impact to the marine environment and lasting socio-economic benefits for the country.
At the AGM on 16 Spetember 2020, The Chamber of Mines President, Mr Zebra Kasete, provided a detailed account of Chamber activities, policy and regulatory developments, mining sector performance and highlights in his just released President’s Report for 2019. See below for full report.
